Artisan Workshop Series – Bead Weaving

Out of stock

We are excited to announce the FIRST Bean & Guild class for 2023 coming Friday, February 3rd from 4-6pm!

This class will feature Sissy Caldwell, owner and designer of Featherbell’s Fine Jewelry & Gifts. Sissy is a member of the Townsend Artisan Guild and will be teaching the art of bead weaving. In this class, you will spend 2 hours creating a heart pendant perfect for Valentine’s Day with various types of seed beads and stitching.

Sissy is a native of East Tennessee, and grew up right here in the Smoky Mountains. She discovered her talent of jewelry making later in life after retiring from her business career. Sissy’s artistic signature is off-loom bead weaving blended with a variety of other jewelry-making and fiber-arts techniques, including embroidery, precious metal clay, glass, and natural items to create truly distinctive jewelry and gifts.

In this class, you will make a heart pendant out of various types of seed beads by stitching them together with a needle and thread (bead weaving). All materials, written directions, and detailed instructions will be supplied in the class. This is a beginner level piece, but some familiarity with stitching or bead weaving would be helpful.

Please note: you will NOT receive a physical ticket for this event. Your name will be on a list upon check in for the event.
