SMOC Walks: Guided Nature Walk Series Thursdays

Join us for a Free SMOC Walks: Guided Nature Walk Series at Smoky Mountain Outdoor Center!

Hosted by Smoky Mountain Outdoor Center (SMOC) and led by outdoor guide Ryan McNutt, our guided Nature Walks offer a wonderful opportunity to explore the beauty of the Smoky Mountains, learn outdoor skills, and connect with nature. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast,
a beginner looking to learn more, or simply seeking a peaceful outdoor experience, these walks are perfect for you.

Event Details:

Dates: June 8, July 13, August 10, and September 14 (Thursdays)
Time: 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Location: Smoky Mountain Outdoor Center (SMOC), 7138 E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy., Townsend, TN 37882
Duration: Approximately 1 hour

What to Expect:

The Nature Walks will begin promptly at 4:00 pm at SMOC. Please arrive a few minutes early to check-in and gather any necessary information.

Led by experienced outdoor guide Ryan McNutt, the group will embark on a leisurely walk along the beautiful trails on the SMOC property.

During the walk, you’ll have the opportunity to observe and learn about the diverse species of flora and fauna that call the Smoky Mountains their home.

Ryan will share his knowledge of the local ecosystem, identify various plants and wildlife, and provide insights into their natural habitats.

Feel free to ask questions and engage in conversation with Ryan as he guides you through the trails and shares his expertise.

The Nature Walk will conclude at 5:00 pm, back at SMOC.

Front Porch Pint Night:

Following the Nature Walk, we invite you to extend your evening by joining our Front Porch Pint Night from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Join us for Front Porch Pint Night at Smoky Mountain Outdoor Center (SMOC) following the guided Nature Walks. This community event supports local
nonprofits, with each night benefiting a specific organization. Enjoy $5 pints, hotdogs from Mr. Weenies Catering, live music by Jeff Nelson, and the opportunity to learn about important initiatives in the Smoky Mountains from onsite nonprofit representatives.

All proceeds from beer purchases go directly to the featured nonprofit of the evening. Don’t miss the chance to socialize, contribute to a good cause, and take advantage of exclusive one-day specials at Front Porch Pint Night.

This event is free and open to all ages and skill levels. However, we encourage participants to dress comfortably and wear appropriate footwear for walking on trails.
